Altar Minister
Coordinates liturgical ministers and prepares liturgical items needed for Mass. Assists the Priest and Sacristan. Must be flexible, efficient, adaptable, and have previous experience as an EMHC.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC)
Assist the Priests (the Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion) in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful during Mass. Must be a registered parishioner and attend training sessions.
Lector
Lay person who participates in the Liturgy of the Word during Mass by proclaiming the Holy Scripture. Requires natural ability in public speaking.
Adult Choir
Made up of parishioners with a love of music and pleasant singing voices. Members must commit to regular weekly rehearsals, and participation at the 9:30 am Sunday Mass. A low-key audition is expected of new members.
Cantor
Gifted with a mature, pleasant singing voice, and a strong commitment to weekly formation and personal preparation, Cantors aid the assembly at Mass and other sacramental celebrations by leading the sung prayers of the Sacred Liturgy. Those interested will be asked to audition.

Rosary Leader
Lead the Rosary before a weekend Mass of your choice. Volunteers may also be called upon to lead the Rosary at a wake or before a funeral liturgy.
Usher
Welcome all to weekend and Holy Day Masses, direct people to open seats, help the elderly or disabled, take up the collection, hand out bulletins, and handle any emergencies that arise. Training is offered in building evacuation procedures, CPR, and the use of the cardiac defibrillator.
Safety Team
For adults 18 and up, volunteers are trained to form security teams that carry out several levels of protection, from patrolling the parking lots and doors to serving inside the Church in coordination roles.
Altar Linen Launderer
On a rotating basis, individuals launder and press sacred linens with timeliness and dependability.
Flower Team
Help to decorate and enhance our church by making fresh arrangements each week.
Welcome Committee
Welcome visitors before and after weekend Masses, provide them with information about our parish and its ministries.

Catechist/Formation Volunteer

Minister of Care
Bring prayer, Scripture, Holy Communion, and compassion to the sick and homebound of our community in various nursing facilities, private homes, and hospitals. Training provided; monthly meetings and annual workshop are necessary.
Prison Ministry
Members travel to Denton County Jail to share the Sunday readings and the Eucharist with those confined in prison. Training provided as to prison procedures and in preparing for the Sunday Celebration in the Absence of a Priest.
Stephen Minister
Stephen Ministers are trained and commissioned to provide confidential one-on one Christian care to adults going through a difficult or challenging time (divorce, illness, long-term hospitalization, anxiety, depression, loneliness, etc.).
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Do you like to knit or crochet? We provide hand-made shawls made with love and prayers to those in our parish in need of comfort. Meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm to pray, talk, and stitch.
Our Lady of Fatima Rosary Makers
Group of parishioners who meet regularly to make Rosaries which are donated to various missions all around the world.
Card Makers Group
Meet twice monthly for card making and fellowship. Cards are sent to various care receivers of our Social Outreach program. Group meets 1st Monday at 9:30 am, and 3rd Thursday at 9:30 am.
Respect Life Committee
Join us as we embrace life with love. Our community celebrates and defends life through prayer, outreach, and parish activities. Get involved through the Spiritual Adoption program, the 40 Days for Life prayer campaign, the annual March for Life, and so much more. Every month we meet the first Saturday for the Rosary at 8:30 am, the last Sunday for Adoration for Life from 12:45—5:00 pm, and our planning meeting is the 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 pm. From His start to His finish.
Gabriel Project
Mentor pregnant women: assist with spiritual and emotional support, help to set-up appointments, give rides as necessary to appointments, and help in delivering donations.
Vocations Ministry
Create a vocations-friendly environment inspiring families to encourage, support, and call forth vocations. We support those already in their vocation, especially our priests and retired priests, and spiritually adopt through daily prayer those discerning or already on the path to ordination or final vows.
Marthas
Provide short-term help to parishioners in need. Varied projects may include making meals for families of those hospitalized or serving food for a funeral reception.
Friendly Visitor
Encourages social interaction and fellowship among parishioners who may be at risk of feeling lonely or isolated. Volunteers are always sent out in pairs, and visiting times are flexible.
Breaking Bread
Supported by a group of local churches, St. Philip's participates on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 12:00 - 2:00 pm by serving a hot meal to individuals and families in need.
Laundry Love
Encourages everyday hospitality within a community through human care. In partnership with a local laundromat, St. Philip's volunteers meet on the 2nd Tuesday from 6:45 - 8:30 PM monthly to provide quarters to low-income families for laundry expenses. The most important part of the evening happens in the conversations and fellowship we have with the families over the common task of getting the laundry done.

Christ Child Society
Incorporated in May 2018 and affiliated with St. Philip's, Christ Child Society is a provisional 501c3 chapter of the National Christ Child Society, committed to improving the lives of children most in need in the DFW area. Their membership at St. Philip is comprised of generous, committed women of various backgrounds with one common goal--to better the lives of children most in need in our community. Knights of Columbus #9884
Fraternal service organization of men, founded under the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. This organization provides men a vehicle for building up the parish community and family life with an emphasis on family, youth, church, council, and community activities. The Knights sponsor several events throughout the year such as monthly pancake breakfasts, annual Casino Night, blood drive, and other projects as needed for the parish and community.

Family of Knights of Columbus Council #9884 members, supporting the Knights, their functions and many parish events.
Women's Club
Step up from the security of the pew to join a group of Catholic women committed to our spiritual growth, Parish service, and building strong relationships with like-minded women. We emphasize social interaction and involvement to help us develop a nurturing environment in which all are welcome and valued. Some of our annual projects include a parish community dinner, providing a Lenten Soup Supper, collecting Easter baskets for CASA children, and many more works of mercy. There are no dues, but plenty of opportunity for you to “do.” We meet monthly either face-to-face or via a virtual medium.

An organization for parish men to socialize, share experiences, do good works, and become active members of the parish.
Haitian Pilgrims
Founded by a group of St. Philip’s parishioners, Haitian Pilgrims serves the poorest of the poor in Haiti, especially in our sister parish, St. Therese in Boileau through regular pilgrimages, continuing education, and fundraising through Christmas in July and coin boxes.
Divine Face Organization
Founded in 1992 by Rev. Fr. Akannamdi Gerard Mary Anyanwu, DFO serves the poor and needy in Ihitteafoukwu, Nigeria. Their mission is two-fold: meet the basic needs of the region's poorest and help break the chain of poverty through high quality education.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter
Mission to proclaim the value of Marriage and Holy Orders in the Church and in the world. Begins with a weekend experience for couples who want to make a good marriage even better.
