Dear brothers and sisters,
As we get ready to begin the Triduum tomorrow, I have some updates to share from the recent news: Denton County has extended the executive "Stay-at-home" order through April 30, 2020.
Here's how this affects us at St. Philip's:
Mass will continue to be celebrated privately, with the opportunity to view online via live-stream (CLICK HERE for our Holy Week and Easter schedule)
All other parish events and activities are either cancelled or postponed until further notice.
We are currently looking to provide opportunities for prayer in our church parking lot, so that we can gather without leaving the safety of enclosed vehicles. Watch parish media for updates.
Since we are unable to take up the Sunday Collection, we continue to rely on your generous support online and through the mail. While we await your physical return, we are working hard to keep our parish home ready for you. Any help is deeply appreciated. Please consider making a special gift this Easter at our secure WeShare site or by a mailed check. Thank you!
Day of Prayer on Good Friday, April 10
Denton County Judge Andy Eads has also issued a proclamation for a Day of Prayer on Good Friday, April 10. Good Friday is already a day of prayer and fasting for us as Catholics; let us unite in offering our observance of Our Lord's Passion for the health and healing of all, and for the end of this pandemic.
Pray with us on Good Friday at our live-stream services:
3 PM - Good Friday Service
7 PM - Stations of the Cross
You all continue to be in my prayers as we enter this most solemn moment of the Church year. Even as we prepare for the sorrowful days ahead in our liturgical celebrations and in the world around us, let us hold onto the hope of Easter at the end.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Raymond McDaniel
