Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
During these unprecedented days of COVID-19, staying at home, and concern for the health of our loved ones, I am writing to assure you of the prayers of our clergy and staff, and to let you know that the work of the Parish continues despite the limitations of these challenging days.
Hopefully you have been able to find our Masses broadcast on the website or on Facebook. Our Formation Staff have begun teaching by means of videos (St. Philip's has a YouTube channel!), since the work of proclaiming the Gospel goes on, despite the change in ways that we do that. Our staff continues to work, but from home, and we are making concerted efforts to stay in touch with you and especially with our seniors and those in most need. We’re using technology like Flocknote to stay in touch with those in Senior Living Facilities; adapting our many ministries through calling, emailing and sending cards; delivering magazines to nursing homes, and continuing to support the growing number of requests for financial assistance in these troubled economic times. We’re also planning our Holy Week liturgies as best as we can, aspiring to celebrate the saving mysteries of our Redemption in Christ in a worthy manner, even if by livestream.
As of today our Building Project is moving forward apace. After some delays due to the extraordinary rain we’ve had, we should be seeing the pouring of concrete in the coming days! We will of course send you updates and keep you apprised of our progress.
In the meantime, now more than ever as we face this health crisis together, I need to ask you for your continued generous financial support. Please help us keep our mission going through these challenges, until we are able to open our doors again and greet you all at Mass. With no public Masses, the collections are significantly down, even though the work goes on. There are a number of ways you can give:
Donating online at our secure giving site, stphilipcc.weshareonline.org
Mailing a check to 1897 W. Main Street, Lewisville, TX 75067
However you can give, your generosity is very much needed, and very much appreciated.
Entrusting you all to the care of the same God who accomplishes great things even in times of difficulty and to the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Philip, and all the Saints, and in Christ our Savior and Redeemer,
Fr. Raymond McDaniel
