St. Philip the Apostle seeks a full-time Director of Music and Organist to lead, oversee and expand its efforts in the vitally important area of liturgical music. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pastor, a former professional church musician, to grow the parish’s musical efforts into an exemplary representation of the best of Catholic liturgical music: Gregorian chant, polyphony, traditional hymnody, and other compositions of textual and musical excellence.
Parish: The parish currently consists of 3200 families in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions. A 40-acre site for a future campus was purchased in spring 2015 and the parish is currently in the midst of a building campaign under the direction of noted church architect James McCrery of Washington, DC which will include an important pipe organ. The Pastor seeks a Director of Music and Organist to continue implementing his vision of establishing a liturgical music effort which glorifies God and contributes to the sanctification of souls.
