Did you know:
- A 17th century mystic taught the Catholic Faith to native peoples without ever leaving her cloistered convent in Spain?
- The second Bishop of Texas was sometimes in such danger of starvation that he lived on rattlesnakes and alligators?
- The early Catholic community in Lewisville was named St. Philip Benizi, and later changed to St. Philip the Apostle?
Find out in "Beyond the Frontiers of Faith", a commemorative book created in honor of the 50th anniversary of our Diocese. Beautifully illustrated with art and photos, "Beyond the Frontiers of Faith" tells the incredible story of how the Catholic Faith was brought, with great courage and zeal, to Texas almost 500 years ago, and how it has developed in our area up to the present day.
The book contains several "pull-out" elements, and includes a detailed page for every parish in our Diocese. The St. Philip's edition features special content unique to our parish.
"Beyond the Frontiers of Faith" will inspire you, but it also makes a great gift for someone else!
Copies are $37 each and will be available at the Pancake Breakfast on November 11 and after all Masses the weekend of November 17/18.
