St. Philip's is pleased to welcome Seminarian Austin Hoodenpyle for the Pastoral Year in his priestly formation. In addition to study and spiritual formation, our seminarians spend time in parishes to become familiar with their future role as pastors. Austin will stay in our parish for the next year, serving at our Masses, assisting the Pastor and staff, and learning the various functions of parish life and work.
Please give him a warm welcome and add him to your prayers as he continues his journey to the priesthood. About Austin: Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Brent and Kelly Hoodenpyle, Austin moved to northern Illinois at a young age and spent part of his childhood in the town of McHenry, IL, before moving to Glen Rose, TX. He liked living in Glen Rose most of all his childhood homes and enjoys visiting his mother, who still lives there. He graduated from Glen Rose High School in 2013 and entered Holy Trinity Seminary at the University of Dallas in the fall of that year. Austin transferred to Theological College and the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, in 2015, where he completed his studies in philosophy. He has now completed two years of theological studies at the same university in preparation for ordination. While he enjoys learning and studying the Faith, Austin is looking forward to the break from university studies provided by the pastoral year he will spend at St. Philip Catholic Church.
