We know how important this question is to many of you - we've read your comments! It is important to us as well, as we look for ways to spread the Faith in our area. The Diocese has also recognized our need to expand our ministries and has ensured that we will have plenty of room for many future possibilities by purchasing a 40-acre block of land for us. In short, a school is definitely being considered in the Master Plan being prepared by our architect, James McCrery. The realization of this dream may be further in the future, however, as we must prioritize the current needs of our parish: a larger church and enough facilities for the educational programs we already have.
What if we built a school first and moved later? Again, the most important thing for St. Philip's at this time is to allow enough room for the parish and its current ministries to reach their full potential. Until we do this, we cannot hope to expand our reach any further into the community. Though we may include a future school in our Master Plan, it may remain unbuilt until a later time.
So we are building our new parish in phases? As yet, we do not know exactly how our project will proceed, but it is very likely that we will divide the building process into phases. Much will be determined by the upcoming Capital Campaign this year. Once the Capital Campaign has shown us what is financially possible, we will work with the architect to determine the best way to execute the Master Plan.
Continue to pray for our building project and watch for events and updates on our parish media!
