On July 1, 2016, Monsignor Francis Boakye Tawiah will begin serving St. Philip’s as our Parochial Vicar (this is the ecclesiastical term for a priest who assists the pastor of a parish in an official capacity). Msgr. Francis was born in Kumasi, Ghana, and is one of a family of four. He was ordained in Kumasi in 1990 and has served the Kumasi Archdiocese for most of his priestly career, with the exception of few years in Germany where he received a licentiate in Missiology. He came to the Diocese of Fort Worth in 2012, and has served at St. Vincent de Paul in Arlington and also at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Fort Worth. Please join us in welcoming him to St. Philip’s!
