Most of you have received pledge materials in the mail as part of our new Offertory Commitment program.
If you haven’t received anything yet, we may not have your current address (as tax statement season draws near, please make sure we have your correct address; send updates to Kathy Loy at [email protected]).
See below for some Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is the Offertory Commitment happening now? Wasn’t this always done in June? It’s true that, in past years, the annual offertory commitment drive took place in June. We’ve moved the program to November in recognition that most organize their finances around the calendar year.
I’m already giving; do I have to submit the Offertory Commitment card? Thank you for your generosity to St. Philip’s! The Offertory Commitment is not just to ask for support, but also to ask that you prayerfully reflect on your gifts from God, and consider how they are being used. Everyone has a part to play in the work of salvation, an essential and unique part that God has entrusted to each person individually. In considering this, and in all things, remember the prayer of St. Teresa: “I am yours Lord, I was born for you. What do you want from me?” In this spirit, we ask you to complete an Offertory Commitment card.
Didn’t St. Philip have the Offertory Commitment with the introduction of WeShare? The introduction of WeShare was not our Offertory Commitment, but the implementation of a new online giving and engagement platform. Online giving had been supported through other programs for over a decade, but with WeShare, St. Philip’s enabled more features and better functionality to improve your experience.
Why wasn’t there a location on the commitment card for my credit/debit card or bank account information? WeShare puts you in control of managing your financial information; with your personal WeShare account, you can now update or change your payment methods easily and securely.
