Message from Building Committee Chairman Bob Dubek:
Dear Fellow Parishioners,
On the surface, it has been a fairly quiet summer for our land/building/campus project, but behind the scenes we’ve been busy. I’m sending this note as an update and preview of fall events. Since the land purchase and our Stand on the Land event last fall:
- We’ve received some unsolicited donations and our short Gold Envelope campaign netted us some seed money for preliminary activities
- McCrery Architects was contracted, produced our Site Master Plan, the Diocese approved
- We are proceeding with a Phase I development pending final details
The Building Committee worked with the architect to ensure that the phasing plan meets our needs and is affordable. For this, we have general financial estimates based on inputs from our architect. These will firm up as the design detail matures and as we add a construction company to assist. Our committee has developed plans for our parish-wide capital campaign, which is set to launch next month. In advance of the general campaign, we’ll be hosting info sessions/receptions after all Masses September 24 and 25 in the CLC. We’ll have a short slide show to share additional details and answer questions; with light refreshments of course. Please plan to attend.
We do have 4 standing committees working on the project: Communication, Prayer/Adoration, Education/Evangelization, and the Capital Campaign. If you’d like to assist in any of these areas or perhaps you have construction expertise that could help in the future, please let me know (email [email protected], “Attention Bob Dubek”).
Please always watch for updates on parish media about the project, and please begin to prayerfully prepare for your family's role in the future of our parish.
Yours In Christ, Bob Dubek Chairman St. Philip the Apostle Building Committee
