Starting September 19, we will begin a twenty-six lesson study of the Catholic Scripture Studies Book of Isaiah. We will study one lesson per week.
There are three time slots available: Monday evenings at 7:00 pm Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am
“St. Jerome likened the book of Isaiah as the gospel of the Old Testament because Isaiah prophesied more about the Messiah than any other book in the Old Testament. He also described in great detail the blessings of the future kingdom of the Messiah. His coming would be as a lion bringing the day of God's wrath, but first He would come as a Savior who would die for the sins of the people. Isaiah focuses on the salvation that will come through the Messiah.” (From the CSS website)
As you read this beautiful Old Testament prophetic book, what you hear in the Gospels will begin to come alive. The commentary for this study was written by Father Mitch Pacwa of EWTN and the weekly commentator is Father Patrick Winslow.
The cost of the course is $50 and checks should be made payable to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Please place “Isaiah Bible study” in the memo section of the check. Checks may be dropped off at the church office during the week or at the receptionist’s desk in the Narthex before and after Masses.
There will be a special introductory class on Thursday, September 8, at 7:00 PM by Jim McGill of the University of Dallas.
