Altar Linen Launderers

Altar Ministers
The Altar Ministers coordinate the other liturgical ministers before Mass, prepare the liturgical items needed for Mass, and assist the Priest and Sacristan. Must be flexible, efficient, and adaptable, and have previous experience as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Contact Susan Schabel at sschabel@stphilipcc.org.
Altar Servers
Altar servers are Middle School or High School youth who assist the priest during the celebration of the Sunday Masses. Trained servers are assigned to the Mass of their choice. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)
EMHCs assist the Priests (the Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion) in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful during Mass. Volunteers must be registered parishioners and attend training sessions before serving. Flower Ministry
Our team of flower volunteers help to decorate and enhance our church by making fresh arrangements each week. Contact Sandi Rockne at sandir@stphilipcc.org or 972-353-5756.
Lectors
Our lectors proclaim the readings during Mass. If you would like to volunteer for this ministry, please ensure you also have time to practice the readings beforehand so that they are clearly and resonantly read. Rosary Leaders
Lead the Rosary before a weekend Mass of you choice. Volunteers may also be called upon to lead the Rosary at a wake or before a funeral liturgy. Contact Ron Tremethick to volunteer for this ministry at 972-436-0895.
Tapestry Team
Put up and take down seasonal liturgical tapestries. Days and times of service vary, but the total volunteer time is around 6-8 hours over the course of a year. Contact Pat Loehr at (pmloehr@verizon.net) or 972-333-1735.
Ushers
The ushers greet and welcome all who come to weekend and Holy Day Masses, especially offering assistance and direction to any newcomers. They direct people to open seats, help the elderly or disabled, take up the collection, hand out bulletins, and handle any emergencies that arise. Training is offered for the above duties, including building evacuation procedures, CPR, and the use of the cardiac defibrillator.
