What is the Giving Tree?
It is a parish-wide Social Outreach gift-collection effort, with support by the Christ Child Society and Women of St. Philip, to guarantee that under-resourced children/families and vulnerable/isolated members of the community are remembered at Christmas. We work in conjunction with PediPlace, CCA, Catholic Charities of Fort Worth, Salvation Army, Love Thy Neighbor, local LISD schools, Lovepacs, and our own Parish Community to identify those who are in most need.
How can I help?
Take a tag! Volunteers will be handing out tags after weekend Masses beginning November 12/13. You can also pick up a tag at the parish office, or shop online. Bring your gifts back (UNWRAPPED and with the tag attached) to St. Philip during weekend Masses through December 4.
New this year: we are introducing the Evergreen Tree, a tree with tags that provide essential goods to families and children in need. Need does not disappear at Christmas, and in fact becomes a greater hardship for those who already struggle all year. The Evergreen Tree seeks to eliminate at least some of that stress by providing basics (hygiene items, clothing, food, etc) to specific families in our community.
