We’re giving Mary a bouquet for Mother’s Day! All parishioners are invited to participate by committing to pray the Rosary (weekly, daily etc.) going forward, most especially with your family. Cards will be available after all Masses on Mother’s Day weekend to sign up.
Beginning the Rosary If you are just beginning the habit of praying the Rosary, start small and develop ways to incorporate it into your life—especially life with kids! Try praying the Rosary in the car, or just
praying a decade at a time through the day in those moments when you might normally reach for your phone.
Our lives never really stop, and forming any good habit ultimately means making a place for it, sometimes to the point of setting aside some other activity or pleasure. Like an exercise habit, the first few times might not “feel” like you’re getting anywhere, but persevere! Don’t be afraid to start over and keep trying. There are so many graces and benefits available to those who pray the Rosary:
“Just as two friends, frequently in each other's company, tend to develop similar habits, so too, by holding familiar converse with Jesus and the Blessed Virgin, by meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary and by living the same life in Holy Communion, we can become, to the extent of our lowliness, similar to them and can learn from these supreme models a life of humility, poverty, hiddenness, patience and perfection.”
- Bl. Bartolo Longo
“The Rosary has saved the world in the past. It will save the world now, by saving the family.”
– Fr. Patrick Peyton
“When you say your Rosary, the angels rejoice, the Blessed Trinity delights in it, my Son finds joy in it too, and I myself am happier than you can possibly guess. After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, there is nothing in the Church that I love as much as the Rosary.”
– Our Lady to Bl. Alan de la Roche
“How beautiful is the family that recites the Rosary every evening!”
– St. John Paul II
“If families give Our Lady fifteen minutes a day by reciting the Rosary, I assure them that their homes will become, by God’s grace, peaceful places.”
– Fr. Patrick Peyton
“The greatest method of praying is to pray the Rosary.”
– St. Francis de Sales
“The family that recites the Rosary together reproduces something of the atmosphere of the household of Nazareth: its members place Jesus at the center, they share his joys and sorrows, they place their needs and their plans in his hands, they draw from him the hope and the strength to go on.”
– St. John Paul II
“The Holy Rosary is the storehouse of countless blessings.”
– Bl. Alan de la Roche
