After recent incidents in Texas and across the country, the Diocese is implementing extensive security measures at all parishes. Here at St. Philip’s we are now seeking volunteers to be trained to form security teams which will carry out several levels of protection, from patrolling the parking lots and doors to serving inside the Church in coordination roles. These security teams will be unarmed, and will be a visible presence of deterrence as well as give early warning of any potential problems that arise outside the Church.
We need volunteers for this new effort. Parishioners age 18 are invited to serve the parish in this important capacity.
The Diocese of Fort Worth has contracted a Security Corporation which will soon come to our parish to provide training to our security teams. Please seriously consider this important position which helps us secure our parish from any future harm.
