General Position Summary: The Director Finance and Stewardship is accountable for the efficient and effective administration of parish financial, capital and human resources. Additionally accountable for ongoing Development and Stewardship activities of parish including capital fundraising and the holistic implementation and ongoing management of Stewardship principals.
Principal Accountabilities:
40% - Direct and manage all Finance and Accounting functions including general ledger, project accounting, payables, payroll, fixed assets, fiduciary and managerial reporting, columbarium inventory/customer management, and purchasing. Develop/interpret financial and legal procedures to align with Diocesan and governmental regulations and requirements; drive annual budget process; provide strategic financial advice to pastor and finance council. Create, implement and maintain a continuity strategy for essential parish administration functions.
20% - Stewardship. Establish a Stewardship Committee (serve as chairperson). Identify and train a core group of volunteers to assist in the ongoing implementation of holistic stewardship principals as outlined in the USCCB’s document, Stewardship A Disciple’s Response, A Pastoral Letter on Stewardship; align as appropriate with Diocesan stewardship recommendations.
Drive and manage all fundraising activities including annual giving, estate planning/legacy program, capital campaigns, special projects, and other parish-related solicitations in keeping with parish needs, the Strategic Plan, and budget objectives.
Oversee all collection activities; manage staff responsible for accurate posting and reporting of donations at the parishioner and church level.
Supervise social outreach team; govern tithe activity.
Drive creation and distribution of annual Parish Handbook and Ministry Fair.
10% - Business owner of data model and data integrity for Parish Data System (PDS) (Profile and giving) and Online Giving platform. Review and select vendors, negotiate contracts. Ensure alignment with Diocesan requirements.

Analyze, recommend and defend system and tool recommendations (i.e. WeShare for online giving, eventual PDS migration path)
Review existing data model, drive go-forward strategy based upon process, operational and diocesan needs.

Senior position: Following strategic alignment with pastor it is anticipated employee is largely self-sufficient and accountable for most decisions necessary. It is further expected employee will demonstrate the proper insight to share details and obtain approval as necessary from Pastor.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
This position works in a typical office environment, but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding business needs, tight deadlines and heavy workloads.
Travel Requirements:
Some travel required, up to 10%.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principals in order to effectively manage the financial activity associated with an annual operating budget of nearly $3M and a long term capital plan over $12M, typically acquired through an Accounting or Finance degree and a minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience.
Comprehensive scope of position, coupled with the extent of interaction with internal and external stakeholders requires strategic thinking, effective prioritization, an appreciation of a day in the life of stakeholders typically acquired through a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience including executive management exposure.
Knowledge of human resource practices in order to support ongoing personnel needs typically acquired through a business degree with emphasis on human resources, or a minimum of 5 years managerial experience with involvement in hiring, performance rating, disciplinary action, and benefits coaching.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
