Sometimes the lives of the saints are told in such a way that one would get the impression they never sinned, were perfect, and spent all their time working miracles. That’s not true. At least, it’s not true of St. Thérèse. While very holy, she was also very human. For example, she was a very broken little girl (as we learned from today’s reading). Later we’ll learn the secret of Therese’s holiness. But for now, what effect does Thérèse’s humanness have on you? More specifically, what impression did today’s reading have on you? Can you think of an example from the life of another saint who was also very human?
