St. Philip's Outreach offers several kinds of ministries to meet the material, spiritual, and emotional needs of our community. See our Ministries and Organizations page for a comprehensive list of these groups.
The Social Outreach office is open to meet with those who are in need of financial assistance:
For individuals and families, we require the following:
That they live within our parish boundaries
Tell us what they need and we determine if we think we can be of assistance
If we believe we may be of assistance, we set up an appointment time when they can bring in their photo ID, IDs for every member of the family, proof of residency, current tax return, proof of income, and copies of all outstanding debts.
Discuss the situation and see if we can be of financial help.
The rule of thumb in giving this type of assistance: it is a one-time help within a 12-month period to put the individual/family back on their feet with this assistance. An example would be: someone who is out of work, looking for a job and going through their savings to survive, then obtains work but needs to pay off some bills to get back on his/her feet.
There are many who do not meet the criteria and we try to help them by:
finding them social service agencies who may be able to assist them longer term
integrating them into the Networking Group
offering emotional support, encouraging them to seek work or counseling, etc.
