Outreach and Pastoral Care
Annulment
The healing and reconciling process of obtaining an annulment is available to any parishioner who had a marriage that ended in divorce. Contact Jackie Jones.
Catholics Returning Home
A special six-week program designed to help non-practicing Catholics return to the Church and their faith. Each session deals with a different topic and always leaves room for the participants to ask questions. Contact Susan Sandles.
Ecumenical Ministry
Members seek to educate our own parish in the work toward Christian unity. Work with neighboring churches to increase the understanding and love among our fellow Christians. Annual events include Ecumenical Sunday during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (mid-January) and a Lenten Worship Exchange. Contact Kathleen Easler.
Grief Recovery
An educational program and support group for persons who are experiencing grief due to death, a life-threatening illness, divorce, etc. Grief Recovery is supportive and non-judgmental. The six-week program is offered annually. Contact Deacon Ray Lamarre.
Haitian Pilgrims
Members are concerned with the plight of our brothers and sisters in Haiti, and work to support our sister parish, St. Therese, in Boileau. Annual pilgrimages, on-going projects, continuing education, and fund-raising. Contact Mike Frost. Visit their Web site.
Marriage Encounter Ministry
Turn a good marriage into a great marriage. A support group composed of couples that have attended a Marriage Encounter Weekend; monthly meetings. Marriage Encounter Weekends are presented throughout the year in both the Fort Worth and Dallas dioceses. Contact Ken and Cathy Gelzleichter.
Marthas
Provide short-term help to parishioners in need. Varied projects include making meals or serving food for a funeral reception or for families of those hospitalized. Contact Connie Gourlie.
Ministers of Care
Bring prayer, compassion, Scripture, and Holy Communion to the sick and homebound of our community in hospitals, nursing homes, or private homes. Training provided, plus monthly meetings and annual workshop. Contact Gail-Ann Colaruotolo.
Networking a New Beginning
Support group for unemployed and underemployed parishioners. We also encourage people to attend if they are aware of job openings where they are employed. Meetings are every other Monday at 7 pm in the Conference Room of the Ministry Center. Web page link. Contact Susan Sandles.
Parish Wellness
A dynamic group spearheaded by nurses in the parish who work with parishioners toward wholeness of body, mind, and spirit. The group conducts blood pressure checks at the monthly Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast. Frequent presentations by health care professionals and parish-wide education on wellness topics. Peace & Justice Ministry
Members of this ministry, striving to follow the example of Jesus, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, seek to identify the disenfranchised, to advocate for their needs and concerns, and to mobilize the parish by serving as a catalyst in providing leadership, eduction, and resources to meet those needs through prayer and service in full harmony with nature. Prison Ministry
Members travel weekly to Denton County Jail and Wackenhut Prison to share the Sunday readings and the Eucharist with those confined in prison. Training provided as to prison procedures and in preparing for the Sunday Celebration in the Absence of a Priest. Contact Danny Burkard.
Sponsor Couple Ministry
One of the ways to prepare for the sacrament of marriage, Sponsor Couples meet with engaged couples to discuss the many aspects of Christian marriage, and to share with them insights based on their own marital experience. Contact Janet O'Malley.
Stephen Ministers
Members bring one-on-one care and support to people in need (divorce, illness, long-term hospitalization, anxiety, depression, loneliness, etc.). Extensive training is required. All information remains confidential. Contact Deacon Ray Lamarre.
