Enrollment for choirs--adult, youth and children--is now underway. See the forms on the right for more information.
All choirs take a break during the summer months, and resume rehearsals and singing/playing each fall, with special focus on the liturgical seasons of Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter.
Adult Choir
Made up of parishioners who have a love of music and pleasant singing voices. Members of the adult choir will be accountable to a weekly rehearsal, and participation at 9:30 am Sunday liturgy is required.
Cantors
Lead the assembly in sung prayer. Gifted with a pleasant singing voice, they have a strong commitment to weekly formation and personal preparation. Cantors aid the assembly at Mass and other sacramental celebrations.
Children's Choir
Open to all boys and girls in grades 1-5, they enhance our sung prayer at the 11:30 am Sunday Liturgy, with rehearsals at 11:00 am under the direction of Bridget Bem, Assistant Director of Music Ministry.
Children's Liturgy of the Word Music Ministers
Lead our children in liturgical acclamations and songs during their age-appropriate liturgy. Adults and high school students attend seasonal workshops, and are usually assigned once a month. We are in desperate need of song leaders for this very important children's ministry at all three time slots: Saturdays, 4 pm; Sundays, 9:30 & 11:30 am. Contact Susan Sandles if you can help, 972-219-5838.
Hand Bell Choir
This choir participates in liturgies with the ringing of hand bells throughout specific liturgical seasons. Children of middle school age to adults are welcome to participate. The ability to read music is helpful, but not required.
Instrumental Support Musicians
Help enhance and support prayer and worship, especially during high liturgical seasons. Open to adults and high school students who have an intermediate to advanced ability on strings, percussion, brass, or woodwind instruments.
Youth Choir
This choir is a mix of young adults of middle and high school age who will participate in song at the 5:30 pm Sunday liturgy on a weekly basis. Commitment to weekly rehearsal is required.
Safe Environment Training
Any adult parishioner who volunteers in Music Ministries must attend a Diocese of Fort Worth Safe Environment training and have a criminal background check done once every three years. New volunteers must also complete a Volunteer Application Form and give three references.
