In keeping with this proclamation of Pope Francis, Bishop Michael F. Olson has designated that Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 1007 E. Terrell in Fort Worth should serve as the principal church for the celebration of the Jubilee Year of Mercy for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. He has also designated parishes in other parts of the Diocese to be secondary centers for the celebration of the Jubilee.
Anyone interested in attending the 2016 March for Life in Washington this January 22 is asked to contact Connie Gourlie in the Parish Office (firstname.lastname@example.org or 972-436-9581) to begin the planning. Please give an indication of your interest as soon as possible. Pope Francis has recommended pilgrimages as a way to celebrate the Year of Mercy and to stand up for the dignity of human life from the moment of conception, and with this opportunity we can join literally hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans in doing just that.
After many years of service to our parish and to the sacred liturgy, our Music Director, Kurt Kulikowski, will be leaving St. Philip’s. Mr. Kulikowski’s last Sunday with us will be the weekend of November 29. Please join us in wishing him Godspeed and in thanking him for his ministry at St. Philip’s.
We are very pleased to announce that we have selected and contracted a talented architect for the master planning phase of our new parish campus. His name is James McCrery. He has designed some truly spectacular buildings and churches during his 17 years as an architect, and we look froward to working with him.
